South Huntsville Living

Welcome To South Huntsville!

"There are people who strictly deprive themselves of each and every eatable, drinkable,

and smokable which has in any way acquired a shady reputation. They pay this price

for health. And health is all they get for it. How strange it is. It is like paying out

your whole fortune for a cow that has gone dry."

- Mark Twain

South Huntsville dining offers a range of atmosphere and cuisine which is suited to families, couples, business meetings or special occasions.

With so many choices in your own neighborhood, you might want to hang up that chef's hat for the day . . . and maybe for tomorrow too!

Restaurant Spotlight June, 2013
Cozy Bean Cafe

Located near the southern end of Whitesburg Drive, The Cozy Bean has become one of our frequent choices when we're looking for a quiet, comfortable lunch spot with great food. The restaurant was expanded about two years ago to include a tastefully decorated dining room. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable for groups ranging from 1- 12 people, (cozy!)

We do not have a real food critic on staff, so we won't pretend this is an official review, but we do know good food when we eat it! Our little group tends to stick with what each of us likes at this restaurant. If it's not broke, don't fix it right?

Our typical order for three includes a pesto turkey paninni, a bowl of chicken soup, and a chicken salad sandwich. Each of these meals is, according to the one who orders it repeatedly, "the best I've ever had." The ingredients are always fresh, well proportioned and served in a timely manner. While we would like to offer further recommendations, we're not giving up our old favorites in order to do so. You'll have to go and try something new for yourself and tell us about it!

Beverages range from soda fountain drinks to specialty coffee and old fashion style cream drinks.

On the odd occasion, we also treat ourselves to dessert. So far we've tried each variety of the homemade cookies, brownies and two of their daily cake selections. Again, we've yet to be disappointed.

The chocolate shop portion of this business is open to the restaurant and provides a great option for gift giving occasions. Baskets are available as well as individual, handmade chocolates.

The Cozy Bean is truly a blend of the owner's talents which makes this an absolutely unique, south Huntsville small business. If you haven't yet had lunch at the Cozy Bean Cafe, we hope to see you there soon!
